Hastings knives hold an excellent edge and are easy to sharpen. The loop knife is for paring the sole and is drawn toward the operator with the lower front-edge sharp. All knives are made of knife-grade carbon steel.
The knife stays sharp and works well. Nice handle for good leverage.

Loop knife sharpness
I was very excited
to get my knife and use it, to find out its not sharp when it arrives. So I had to order a sharpener for loop knifes. Nofice trimmer just starting to trim my own. Curious why they don't come sharp.
